TMJ treatments
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome or TMJ joint disorders are medical problems related to the jaw joint. The TMJ connects the lower jaw to the skull in front of the ear. Certain facial muscles control chewing. Problems in this area can cause head and neck pain, a jaw that is locked in position or difficult to open, problems biting, and popping sounds when you bite. Our team of dedicated dentists and specialist are trained to tackle the problem by way of neuromuscular dentistry., neuromuscular dentistry places the jaw into its optimal position, relieving the symptoms associated with TMJ. While traditional dentistry evaluates primarily the teeth, bones, and gums, neuromuscular dentistry works with the hard tissues and the soft tissues, muscles and nerves. Neuromuscular dentists understand that your hard and soft tissues have a complex relationship and work to make that relationship a harmonious one. |

Nitrous Oxide/ Oxygen
|
If a patient is worried by the sights, sounds or sensations of dental treatment, they may respond more positively with the use of nitrous oxide / oxygen, also called happy gas. Perhaps the safest analgesic in dentistry, nitrous oxide/oxygen can reduce anxiety and gagging in patients and make long appointments easier. The patient remains fully conscious during treatment. Recovery after treatment is rapid and complete. Nitrous oxide is not effective for patients who are congested or will not breathe through their nose. |

Deep Sedation (IV sedation)
|
Deep sedation (IV sedation) is an induced state of unconsciousness. In practical terms, the patient is asleep and unable to respond to touch or voices. It is most often recommended for patients with extensive treatment needs such as impacted wisdom teeth extractions .At SmileKrafters Deep sedation/IV sedation is performed by a highly qualified nurse anesthetist. |
